  • LIVE and online via Zoom.
  • Online support via our private Home-Ed FB group.
  • Work towards the British Science Association’s Crest Award – (optional extra – details below).
  • Earn stamps for the Children’s University Passport.
  • Only £40 per family includes the kit delivered via Royal Mail’s Signed For service. Image and details of kits below.
  • £10 per additional kit (for siblings – optional).
  • The club is led by our scientist & teacher, Ruth (yes – an actual real scientist!).
  • The groups are kept small (up to 10 screens), so Ruth can ensure your youngster is engaged and involved throughout.

A typical session:

During a typical session of one of our online live science classes, Ruth opens the class a few minutes early to check sound and video, and welcomes everyone in. We begin promptly usually this is with a catch up from the last session, to show any follow up activities youngsters did, or any big news to share. We then get underway with Ruth explaining the current session’s topic, we then work through the practical activities together, with Ruth showing and guiding youngsters through the task, whilst explaining the theory behind what they’re doing. Ruth asks questions throughout and encourages youngsters to share and ask questions too. A few families prefer to have their camera off, which is absolutely fine, although as Ruth can not see what you are doing, she may not be as interactive with you as someone  with their camera on. At the end, Ruth offers suggestions on how to turn the activities into proper experiments useful for those working towards the CREST Award.

  • Sarah, Online Clubs
Your lessons have been incredible this year, I went from a child leaving school hating science and not wanting anything to do with it, to a child that really enjoys getting stuck in and experimenting and exploring. Thank you for giving him enjoyment from science and lots of laughs and smiles.

Thank you, Ruth, for your seriously inspiring online science sessions. My two kids spent many days afterwards re-creating the experiments in different ways - thanks to the excellent equipment kits you sent in the post. It's brilliant how you teach them the scientific principles behind the fun stuff, they love going on to apply those principles in other situations. They have learned so much and we will definitely be back for more.

  • Angela, Plymouth
Each session had three really fun and engaging activities, well taught and explained. None of the activities were “duds” or time fillers and my daughter was inspired to follow up each session with further investigation. The sessions were well priced and we are sad they have come to an end

  • Joanna, Online Clubs

  • Beth, Online
Absolutely fantastic online classes. My 5yo looks forward to them every week and it has really fed his love of science and provided lots more avenues for him to explore in his own time. The kits are always well organised and the little added treats make it that bit more special and exciting for young children to receive.
